David J. Cross (He/Him) is a writer, researcher, and artist exploring intersections of literature, philosophy, and ecological thought. David’s work examines apocalyptic narratives, cultural theory, and experimental aesthetics, while his artistic practice (dc kane) engages sound, text, and performance. Currently, David is writing his Doctoral Thesis at Universität Stuttgart and has contributed cultural essays and other writings to various publications including, Zwei Komma Sieben, N-O-O-N, and Volume. David’s work seeks to bridge critical inquiry with creative expression in exploring possible futures.
David also works for Archis as a proofreader and copyeditor for the biannual publication Volume and has edited various collections and publications including Back to the Office by Stephan Petermann and Ruth Baumeister (NAI, 2022), The Masterplan by Reinier de Graaf (Archis, 2021), and What is an Institute for NightCulture (Archis, 2025).
